Sergio Ramos stays with Real Madrid as he turns into the captain
Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos has been linked with a move to Manchester United all summer long as the Premier League wants to secure the services of the Spanish defender who is one of the highest rated players in the world and has consistently been performing at a high level not only for his club but also for his country.
Unfortunately for Manchester United, they will have to search around for another defensive acquisition as Sergio Ramos was named as the new captain of Real Madrid after Iker Casillas announced his tearful farewell from the Santiago Bernabeu.
Ramos has also been included in Rafael Benitez’s team that is performing in Australia as part of the pre-season training. From the looks of it, Ramos will be staying with Real Madrid at least for another season and Manchester United will have to search around for another defender.
Marcelo is the vice-captain of Real Madrid, Pepe is the third captain and lastly, C.Ronaldo is the 4th captain.
The departure of Iker Casilllas is expected to be filled by David de Gea with Real Madrid preparing an enticing offer to Manchester United in order to secure the services of the Spanish shot-stopper but Sergio Ramos is out of the reach of the Premier League club.
One of the things that could have happened in order for Real Madrid to sign David de Gea, was that they might had to give Sergio Ramos to Manchester United and the Premier League side in exchange would be giving away David de Gea but since Ramos has just recently been named as the new captain, it’s not likely that Ramos will be moving away from Real Madrid anytime soon.
The only reason of why Ramos would be selected as the captain is for him to continue playing with Real Madrid for a few more years.
