ROONEY SAYS KANE IS A GREAT STRIKER
Amid the continued criticism that has come in the way of Tottenham Hotspur and England striker Harry Kane, former Manchester United talisman Wayne Rooney has poured in some support for the Premier League star and has insisted that he is a great attacker. Kane was called up by England head coach Gareth Southgate as the main striker of the England squad at the Euros 2020 but the player has not had much of an impact at the tournament yet.
However, despite his inability to put in a strong performance for England at the Euros yet, Rooney believes that it doesn’t affect his status as a top striker. Speaking on the topic, Rooney said Kane has already proven himself as a top striker, and although he is currently not in the sort of form he would have loved to be in, it still does not dispute the fact that he is a very important player not just for Tottenham but also for England.
The Tottenham star has been linked with a move away from his current club and while there are no affirmations yet that he will not be playing for Spurs next season, Manchester City, alongside other clubs, have shown their interest in signing him in the summer transfer window. City have been the most serious club thus far after following up on their interest by tabling an offer for him that is said to be worth around £100 million.
