ROONEY BACKS FRANCE FOR EURO 2020
Derby County boss Wayne Rooney has backed world champions France to add the Euro 2020 tournament to their trophy cabinet as he also predicted that the Three Lions of England will make an impact at the tournament just around two days away from kick-off.
Apart from France and England, Wayne Rooney also mentioned European champions Portugal and Belgium.
Ex-Manchester United forward Rooney represented England at several European Championships and he believes that France will win the Euro 2020 tournament if all their players turn up for their games.
France manager Didier Deschamps has an abundance of talents at his disposal and he has been boosted by the return of Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema to his squad after a lengthy absence though he was subbed off after picking up a knock in a friendly game against Bulgaria on Tuesday night.
The French team has a fearsome attack with the likes of Antoine Griezmann, Olivier Giroud and KylianMbappe all options in addition to Benzema.
Wayne Rooney pointed out that the unity in the France squad would be a big asset to the world champions at the Euro 2020 tournament. According to the Rams boss, the unity in the France squad is an added advantage to the numerous talents in the team.
France boast the likes of N’GoloKante, Paul Pogba and Adrien Rabiot in midfield, while they have Raphael Varane, PresnelKimpembe, Lucas Hernandez, Benjamin Pavard and Lucas Digne in defence. The team captain is goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
The French team has been drawn in the Group of Death alongside Germany, Portugal and Hungary at Euro 2020 starting this Friday.
