FIFA Ballon d’Or award on January 12, 2015
The winner of the 2014 FIFA Ballon d’Or will be announced on January 12 of 2015.
This is an annual award that is given to the best player and coach of the previous season as they are compensated and awarded for their respective accomplishments.
It doesn’t come as a surprise to see that Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were nominated in the shortlist of 23 players that are being taken into consideration of winning the prestigious individual award.
Diego Costa, KarimBenzema, Angel Di Maria, Andres Iniesta, ZlatanIbrahimovic, Toni Kroos, Eden Hazard, ThibautCourtois, Philipp Lahm, Javier Mascherano, Manuel Neuer, Neymar, Paul Pogba, ArjenRobben, Sergio Ramos, James Rodriguez, Bastian Schweinsteiger and YayaToure are the other players that were included in the 2014 FIFA Ballon d’Or shortlist.
Those players mentioned previously have made a huge impact with their respective clubs or nations and this is why they were included in the shortlist but there is no denying that Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are the favorites on winning it.
Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney revealed his opinion concerning on who he thinks will and should win it.
Rooney unveiled his support and judgment concerning the 2014 FIFA Ballon d’Or as the Englishman said that C.Ronaldo deserves to win it as the player of Manchester United said: “He’s had an incredible two or three years and I think he has certainly overtaken Lionel Messi now as the best player in the world. I’m sure it’ll be difficult to give it to anyone else.”
The player of Manchester United was not shy in letting his voice be heard as Rooney considers C.Ronaldo to be the current best player in the world and after all of the contributions and goals that the Portuguese has made in the year of 2014, C.Ronaldo is the appropriate figure to win the individual award according to Wayne Rooney.
