Captaincy Up For Grabs In Hull
Michael Dawson completed his move to Hull City a few days ago and now that the experienced defender is not part of Tottenham Hotspur, the captaincy armband is up for grabs but the head coach of the club will not be precipitated or rushed in any way on announcing the new captain of the squad.
Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino unveiled details about his plans of announcing the new captain of the squad as he told reporters: ‘’We will decide about the captain in the next few days when the transfer window closes. The past is the past. Football is all about the present and we needed to take a decision. We stayed too much with Michael and I wish him all the best because he is an unbelievable man. He was a very important player for Tottenham in the last 10 years. But football is in the present and this is our decision. We decided with Michael it was the best thing for him because he was not playing regular games’’
With victories against West Ham United and Queens Park Rangers, the side of Mauricio Pochettino is at the top of the Premier League and has given hope to the supporters of the club that Tottenham indeed has what it takes to make a charge for the English title.
Mauricio Pochettino has the task of only delivering good results in the Premier League but also in the upcoming fixtures in the Europa League and hoping to rotate the players somehow to avoid picking up any unnecessary injuries.
This is the debut season of Pochettino as he arrived to White Hart Lane from Southampton and now has a mountain of tasks to do from selecting the new captain of the team to leading his squad to the finals of the Europa League which is what they are expected to do as they are one of the favorites on winning the European title.
