Rooney has a secured spot for the 2016 Euro’s
Wayne Rooney has not played a league match for Manchester United since February 13 when his team faced off with Sunderland and sustained a surprising 1-2 defeat against the team that is located in the bottom spots of the Premier League.
The English attacker sustained a knee injury which will be keeping him out of the playing grounds at least until April and this is a huge blow not only for Manchester United but also for the England national football team.
The 2016 Euro’s is edging closer and closer, the group stages of the international competition are going to be kicking off in June. England was pitted in Group B along with Russia, Wales and Slovakia. Roy Hodgson and his team are one of the favorites of making it past the group stages, even with the possible absence of Wayne Rooney, Hodgson has a plethora of attacking options at his disposal including the likes of: Harry Kane, Daniel Sturridge, Jamie Vardy, Saido Berahino, Marcus Rashford, Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott.
Rooney might end up using the services of Yacht Charter Croatia instead.
Even with all of these offensive players who can replace the currently injured Wayne Rooney, Roy Hodgson said that if Rooney manages to recover in time, the star of Manchester United will be elected to not only perform for the upcoming 2016 Euro’s but also to captain it.
“He’s got to come back before the end of the season, there is no doubt about that. Form is transient. His quality, and his leadership quality are in the fact that he is captain of England, and that is not transient, that’s a given. There is no way I should be looking to dismiss a Wayne Rooney who is fit and playing football on the basis that he is out of form, because he is our captain. And the captain is important.” Manager of the English national side, Roy Hodgson said.
