Derby County’s interim manager Wayne Rooney has expressed his frustration after the Rams conceded a late equaliser. The Rams went into the midweek game without a victory in 10 matches and their run extended with a second successive stalemate at Pride Park. Colin Kazim-Richards put Derby on course for three points with an 83rd-minute goal, but Gustavo Hamer denied them the win by scoring for the visitors in stoppage time.

As a result, the Rams are still search for their second win of the Championship campaign and Rooney has acknowledged that he is disappointed with the team’s inability to keep hold of their advantage, he told: “It’s frustrating, and it hurts to have conceded so late. The players gave everything. We created chances and deserved the victory. The players have done what I’ve asked, which is great, but then we concede a goal and then it seems like doom and gloom. I’m confident in this job and this role and of course I would love to do it.”

The club are currently languishing at the bottom of the Championship table with eight points and they are now five points behind Nottingham Forest, who are currently just outside of the relegation places. Up next, they are scheduled to face Millwall on the road and have a good chance of ending their wretched run of form with a victory.

The south London outfit are winless in the past seven Championship matches, but they have been constantly picking up points with five draws during this period. It could be another tight contest and Rooney will be hoping that his team can take the lead this time around and hold onto the advantage for the entire 90 minutes. Derby are currently on the verge of a takeover from Derventio Holdings and reports claim that John Terry could become the head coach.
